Since 1981, when it was founded by the group Comediants, every year on the second weekend of September, Tàrrega holds the Fira de Teatre, the most important performing arts fair in southern Europe.

The Festival invites theatre companies from Russia and other countries. This year besides its main program the Festival offers the «Off-Fest» program, that will consist of street and alternative theatres performances.
