The New Theatre Institute of Latvia is glad to announce the dates of the Latvian Theatre Showcase – showcase of the most recent work produced in Latvia and presents the performances and artists nominated for the Latvian Theatre Award: the event will be held between the 12th and 15th of March 2009 in Riga.
The Showcase will be organised in close collaboration with Latvian repertory and independent theatre and dance companies and will mainly present the productions by the most interesting directors and companies of the current season. The programme will be selected by the New Theatre Institute in collaboration with artists and companies and will present contemporary drama, dance, puppet and object theatre. All text-based performances will be simultaneously translated into English. The official program will be accompanied by meetings with local performing arts professionals and informal talks.
