14-15 April 2008, Aarhus, Denmark. Registration deadline: 22 February 2008
The Showcase DANISH+ is a showcase of professional Danish performing arts companies for children and young people. For this exclusive showcase we have handpicked only 15-20 productions; the best of Danish contemporary performing arts for children and young people.
All productions, presented at DANISH+, are considered equally compelling for adults and children/young people, and DANISH+ will appeal to interested professionals in the performing arts across the board. The process of selecting the presented work has been based on only one sole parameter: quality. The theatres will be encouraged to present their work in whatever language they choose, though of course with consideration to the representation of international guests in the audience. The board of directors consists of representatives from three of the most prolific theatres in the present landscape of Danish performing arts for children and young people: Gruppe 38, Det Lille Turneteater and Asterions Hus.
Along with quality, Danish performing arts for children and young people is widely acclaimed for creating and conceptualising the genre, and its productions, from an uncompromising and genuine artistic concern. Danish productions also aim for intense and intimate dialogue on several levels between stage and audience – the latter often with a size of less than 100 spectators.
Along with performances of a very high quality, DANISH+ will provide occasions for networking, socialising, accommodation, transportation from Danish Teatercentrum’s festival in Noestved (in case you're participating) to Aarhus and a comprehensive delegate pack for each participant. You will be required to submit a registration fee of ? 200 together with your commitment to participate. The registration fee will cover your three nights accommodation in Aarhus (this period has recently been extended by the Organizers), and provide you free entrance to all performances, free participation in all networking events and free transport from Teatercentrum’s festival in Noestved to Aarhus. If needed, participants will be able to apply for financial support towards their expenses.
The deadline for applications has been extended to February 22 2008. Application Form is available at DANISH+ Web site.
