The 9th edition of The Rainbow International Theatre Festival will take place in St. Petersburg on 23-29 May, 2008. In 2008 the Festival will focus on contemporary plays for teenagers and young people and modern interpretation of classics.
The Festival will present 7 productions from Russia and 7 productions from other countries. Professional theatres for children and young people are invited to apply. The shows are selected by the board of experts on the basis of received applications and video materials.
The performances, recognized as the best ones by the Jury of the Festival will be awarded prizes during the Closing Ceremony in the following nominations: best large scale production, best small scale production, best actress, best actor.
Apart from the main program a number of training activities for artists will be held during the Festival:
The RAINBOW Festival welcomes applications from professional theatre companies and artists working for teenagers and youth till March, 1.
Conditions: Festival organizers will cover local transportation, accommodation and 3 meals per day for three days for the company team (max. 25 persons) and full stay at the festival for 2 members of the each company.
