4-10 August 2008, Tampere, Finland. Application deadline: 29 February 2008
Tampere Festival is one of the oldest Finnish festivals - this year will be its 40th anniversary - that presents the most interesting Finnish and International performances of the last season.
Tampere Festival presents drama, music, street theatre, and theatre for young audiences. Its overall program consists of three parts: The Main Program, The Club Festival Encorebaana, and The Tent Program. Additionally, Tampere runs its OFF Program and organizes seminars and discussions for both performing arts professionals and the general public.
The performances that appear in the Main Program are always invited to the Festival. The invitation to the Main Program is issued by the artistic team, which is formed by Saana Lavaste (director), Mika Myllyaho (director), Jukka-Pekka Pajunen (translator) and Hanna Rosendahl (the executive director).
If you are interested in proposing a production to the Main Program, please provide us with sufficient information about your company and the production. As the members of the artistic team wish to see the performances before selecting them, please tell us where and when the production can be seen. Photographs, reviews, recommendations and videos are also welcome.
Also the performances of the Program Tent and the Club Festival Encorebaana appear by invitation only. If you would like to propose your production to either of these, please contact the persons in charge of the programs: Mervi Paavilainen (The producer of the Program Tent) or Laura Valoma (the production planner of Encorebaana).
Participation in the OFF Tampere Fringe Festival is open to all who wish to perform at their own expense.
The program for the Festival 2008 will be closed by the end of February 2008.
On 2008 the Festival will run from the 4th – 10th of August. It will be the 40th in range.
