According to RusInterCenter from June till November in Nagasaki, Japan there will be the 3rd International Contest of Young Opers Singers «Madame Butterfly». Opera singers (soprano and tenor) of 18-40 y.o. can participate.

Contest consists of 3 stages:

I stage – listening to applicant's audio recording (June 2008)

II stage – selection (27th of November 2008)

III stage – final (29th of November 2008)

Winners concert will be on 30th of November 2008.

Participation in 1st stage of the contest is free of charge. Applicants who successfully passed the 1st stage must pay the registration fee = 20000 yen (about $200).

Prizes for winners:

1st place – 1 million yen (about $10 thousand)

2nd place – 500 thousand yen (about $5 thousand)

3rd place – 200 thousand yen (about $2 thousand)

Application deadline (application form + CD or MD record): 31st of May 2008.
