Moscow authorities have recently made final their decision to build a new theatre center that will bear the name of Yuri Lyubimov. As explained by Lyubimov himself, this decision has been maturing for some 10 years.
Artistic director of the Taganka Theatre assured that the new theatre complex will be built to meet the expectations that are nowadays applied to the venues of its kind: the complex will have a perfectly equipped audience hall, excellent acoustics and a transformable stage. «There will also be a recording studio and a rehabilitation center for art professionals».
Theatre Center will be put up in Nizhniy Taganskiy street in Moscow «just 50 meters away from Taganka Theatre which should be also preserved for future generations», marked the master.
Lyubimov Moscow Theatre Center will be built with funding from the municipal budgets. The end of construction works is planned for 2011.
