The tenth edition of the International Festival of Theatre and Visual Arts ZDARZENIA – Tczew – Europe is directed to young, debuting artists, who are willing to submit original projects of theatrical or musical forms. ZDARZENIA constitutes a forum for various creations including a full range of techniques and original ideas, being simultaneously, the sole place in Poland where one has a chance to present the most novel artistic concepts, combing efforts of both students and graduates from various art schools from Poland and abroad.
The organisers wish the festival to become a place of the search for avant-garde experiments and presentations that are going to determine the art trends of the 21st century. Both individual and group works are expected, including interdisciplinary projects combining acting, musical, stage designing, choreographic arts.
Students and graduates (years: 2004/2005, 2005/2006, 2006/2007, 2007/2008) of all kind of art schools from Poland and abroad are invited to submit thoroughly filled Card of notification and CD/DVD recording with a description of the theatrical, visual or musical form, together with a script, technical conditions, designs and situation sketches of the event or the visual conception or stage design (drawings and photographs) until 1st April 2009.
The contest of the festival consists of the following forms (with free variants):
1. STREET ACTION
2. THEATRICAL PERFORMANCE (plastic art, street, multimedia)
3. MUSICAL PERFORMANCE
4. AUTHOR’S PROJECTS OF SET DESIGN OF ANY DRAMA OR ADAPTATION
The results of the contest will be published in Polish media. The organizers guarantee: covering costs of the set design transport, technical costs, accommodation of the participants during the festival and widespread promotion of the festival in Polish media.
